November is a little slower for me with new releases that I’m excited about or interested in so I only have five ARCs, which is still more than I need to have at this point in the year where I’m just sort of fully in a mood reading mindset. But I also have a lot of prompts left on #FallIntoLoveBingo so we’re going to touch base on that and then the other reading challenges that I need to catch up on. Anyway, let’s dive in to the books, shall we?

ARCs

Swipe Bite by Alexandra Vasti comes out on November 10th. The short blurb is: “An icy vampire corporate heiress and a human software engineer must team up to thwart the saboteur who’s turned their sexy human-vampire dating app into a bloodbath, in this mystery romance romp.” Considering how much I enjoyed the mystery romance romp that was It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Murder, I am extremely optimistic that I will enjoy this one so much!
This Wretched Alchemy by Tina Mars comes out on November 10th as well and the conclusion blurb is: “This Wretched Alchemy by Tina Mars is a dark, slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romantasy where love and loyalty become the very weapons that could destroy everything.” I am definitely intrigued by this one and I’m hoping I can get it read early enough to potentially attend the author event if I want a physical copy. I’m trying to decide if I can count this book for buzzy and I’m leaning toward yes! Let me know your thoughts if you have them.
Too Cold for Comfort by Nisha J. Tuli is yet another November 10th release and it is about a photographer trying to get a picture of a polar bear (an excellent goal, imo) who gets stuck living in the family wing of this lodge with a very grumpy manager/owner person. Can’t wait. I absolutely adored Tuli’s first contemporary romance, Not Safe for Work, so I’m really excited to pick this one up.
You, Me, and the Conspiracy by Emma Barry is out on November 10th because why wouldn’t all of my ARCs come out on the same date? I am really looking forward to this one because it’s giving National Treasure and that just sounds like a delight. This is also academia adjacent because both of our main characters are or were academics and the book starts in the archives, even if it does take us lots of places after that. The reason this is important is because that’s one of my #FallInLoveBingo prompts I need to fill. Alternatively, I’d intended to use this to fill high concept so it could still go there instead.
Every Secret Thing by Susanna Kearsley is a re-release because the book was originally published under a different name (Emma Cole), but I hadn’t gotten around to it, so I figured that seeing it on Netgalley was a sign that now is the time. The release date is November 17th and the synopsis is: When journalist Kate Murray is approached by a stranger desperate to reveal the truth about a long-buried crime, her life is upended, and a dangerous journey begins. A tangled web of betrayal, loyalty, and courage draws Kate in as she follows the trail from present-day London to the shadowy alleys of wartime Europe. The answers lie in her own family’s hidden past, but with every step, she awakens powerful enemies. To bring a killer to justice, Kate must risk not only her career—but her life.
New Releases

#FallInLoveBingo Priorities

Bad Words by Rioghnach Robinson for buzzy for multiple reasons. For one, the book itself did get a lot of buzz, including through Emily Henry’s promoting it before its release. But more than that, the book starts out talking about how buzzy Parker’s debut novel was before Selina wrote a review panning the books. A sort of meta buzzy book.
The Princess and the P.I. by Nikki Payne for Black Love because it also fills another reading challenge of occupation in the title.
The Keeper by Ana Huang because did you know that Amazon picked up the rights to develop this series??? I did not know that until I was doing some research today because I don’t really want to reread something for this, but I wasn’t interested in picking up the books for the adaptations that were top of mind. Anyway, learning this made me so excited! So definitely excited, particularly since I started this yesterday while eating dinner and read 60 pages without even trying. Also though, if all else fails, I did already reread Fourth Wing and we got casting news so…
I’m going to slot in Joss Richard’s Let’s Kiss and Tell in for safe because I might have cheated and checked my kindle copy for the word safe and it seems like it’s going to fit perfectly.
This might be a bit of a stretch, but in order to let You, Me, & The Conspiracy work for High Concept, I think I can stretch The Partner Plot by Kristina Forest to work for academia because Xavier is a high school teacher. This isn’t necessarily what I was initially thinking of, but it would work. Alternatively, Bound by Ali Hazelwood involves a professor and the fact that I haven’t read it yet does feel absolutely wild.
Meet Cute Magic by Morgan Elizabeth is still my pick for curse, I just still haven’t gotten around to reading it quite yet. Similarly, I still need to pick up On a Wild Night by Stephanie Laurens for family tree. For beloved author, I’m really not sure what direction I’m going to go… I may do Once Smitten, Twice Shy by Chloe Liese because that will complete a trilogy and that would be great.
Y2K is the prompt I’m most struggling with so please share what you’ve selected for that… I could do The Backtrack by Erin La Rosa if I would just focus.
Other Reading Challenges

These four will not entirely catch me up on the Buzzword title and cover prompts, but it would get me a lot closer. Mr. Right Next Door is for the October title prompt parts of a house (door) and Thistlemarsh is for the corresponding October cover prompt for doors/keys. The Burning Side is either going for the cover prompt of featuring damage or flames/smoke. You would think that would be easier than I’ve found it thus far. And then Zeal is for the February cover prompt featuring silhouette. I can do it. I can get caught up. Probably.
Closing Thoughts
As always, there are too many books and too little time, but reading is for fun! Or something. Also I’m behind on my nonfiction goal so there’s that too. We’ll see if I manage to read a fraction of these books. What books are on your TBR? Let me know!
