#Top10of2k21 The Ten Books I Wish I’d Gotten to in 2021

Honestly, there are many more than ten books I wish I’d gotten to in 2021 and this list is not only going to serve as a fulfillment of Kim’s #Top10of2k21 Day One prompt, but also as a look back at my Most Anticipated lists of the year and whether or not I was able to fulfill those. So let’s get to it.

Most Anticipated Books of 2021 Check In

Most Anticipated Books of 2021 Check In

I think the only book I didn’t get to from my Most Anticipated Books of the year list was The Devil Comes Courting by Courtney Milan, which is honestly a five star prediction and a book I think I’ll love. So why am I dragging my feet on it? That’s a great question. Unfortunately, no idea what the answer is.

Most Anticipated Books of Winter Check In

I had three books in my honorable mention category that I didn’t get to in the winter. Those books are Across the Green Grass Fields by Seanan McGuire, Enjoy the View by Sarah Morganthaller, and Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers. I would still like to read all three of these, but only Honey Girl is one I would consider a priority.

Most Anticipated Books of Spring Check In

Of my main list, I did not get to The Most Beautiful Girl in Cuba by Chanel Cleeton and I really need to rectify that promptly. Until then though, it definitely falls in the top ten list I’m building here of books I wish I’d gotten to. Then I had two honorable mentions, Second First Impressions by Sally Thorne and Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake by Alexis Hall. Honestly, I tried to read both of those at least once each this year and neither pulled me in immediately, which makes it hard to want to pick them back up. I will though! Eventually.

Most Anticipated Books of Summer

I did an unfortunately low amount of reading over the summer this year so I have several books to talk about here. First, on the main list, I have The Heart Principle by Helen Hoang, which I do still want to read, just as soon as I’m emotionally ready for a book that will make me cry. Then I have six books from my honorable mentions and I still really want to read most of them. I’ve got Requiem of Silence by L. Penelope, which is a book that I really should be ready for once I’m ready to pause my Wheel of Time devouring. Then I’ve got Capture the Crown by Jennifer Step, The Dating Playbook by Farah Rochon, Uncharted by Adriana Anders, The Devil You Know by Kit Rocha, and Isn’t It Bromantic? by Less Kay Adams.

Most Anticipated Books of Fall

Honestly, the fact that I haven’t read these four books yet is utterly ridiculous. Anyway, I’ve got Well Matched by Jen DeLuca and Miss Moriarty I Presume? by Sherry Thomas on my main list and The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling and Witch Please by Ann Aguire on my honorable mentions.

So, now that we’ve figured out that I’ve not done the best job reading from my most anticipated lists this year, let’s talk about my final top ten books I wish I’d made time to read this year:

What books do you wish you’d made time for this year? Let me know! Also, please share your thoughts on any of the books I’ve got on my list!

xx
