#BangInTheNightBingo Wrap Up

Another readathon wrap up! I hope you don’t mind, I’ll try to make sure it’s not too repetitive, but I wanted to share what I read for #BangInTheNightBingo and not all of the books overlapped with #FallInLoveBingo. I also want to mention that this was not a Bingo I was able to get a full board covered, but it is what it is. Let’s talk about the books!

Row One

Prompt: #SquadGhouls
Book: Angel’s Blood by Nalini Singh

I usually think that I don’t love Guild Hunters as much as I do Psy-Changeling but I really think they might be a lot closer to tied, in all honesty. I devoured the whole series in October as a re-read to prepare for Archangel’s Light and I have zero regrets. Also, this re-read was such a spur of the moment decision. I couldn’t pick an audiobook for my long drive beyond I knew I didn’t want to listen to what I was in the middle of and then I was like ELENA AND RAPHAEL, YES. So that’s how that happened.

Row Two

Prompt: Who You Gonna Call?
Book: A Twist of Fate by Kelley Armstrong

I feel like the best thing about the use of this prompt and this book is that there’s literally part of this where she’s like, “I need to write to my sister for help with the ghosts.” Anyway, A Twist of Fate is the perfect gothic vibes + ghosts + creepy but also romantic vibe that I was looking for and I would absolutely recommend it if you haven’t read it already. There will be an ARC review coming soon!

Row Three

Prompt: Main Character has a Cat
Book: Battle Royal by Lucy Parker

Honestly, I love the cat’s contributions to this book. Dominic’s relationship with the cat is top notch and the cat’s reaction to Sylvie? Amazing. Plus, the cat really helped improve the sick bed scene, if we’re being honest.

Prompt: Free Space
Book: Archangel’s Sun by Nalini Singh

Okay, tbh, I don’t actually know that you had to read a book for the free space thing, but you should never pass up the opportunity to read (for the third time) Archangel’s Sun, tbh. I love this book so much. It’s amazing. Sharine and Titus are *chef’s kiss*.

Prompt: Published in October
Book: Archangel’s Light by Nalini Singh

I’m never going to stop thinking about this epilogue. Just… never. I love this book. I can’t wait for more of Aodhan and Illium. I don’t really have the words to tell you about the book though. It sort of broke my heart, but in a good way? I don’t know. It was a delight.

Prompt: Into the Woods
Book: Silver in the Wood by Emily Tesh

This TOR novella was honestly really weird, but the m/m romance was sweet. But it was really weird. Definitely set in the woods though.

Row Four

Prompt: A Shocking Twist!!
Book: Finlay Donovan is Killing It by Elle Cosimano

I am genuinely obsessed with this book and if you could see my texts to my co-worker while I was getting toward the end of it, you would really be able to tell that my obsession is deep. I kept interrupting the audiobook to send all cap texts screaming about the various reveals and twists. I won’t pretend it’s the best mystery ever because idk what y’all think is a good mystery, but this is both funny and clever and I love it so much.

Prompt: It’s a Sign
Book: Count Your Lucky Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur

Although it’s not my favorite in the series, Margot and Olivia’s book was incredibly emotionally satisfying, even if it did have me yelling at the two of them to COMMUNICATE for heaven’s sake.

Prompt: Black Cover
Book: The Enforcer by Katrina Jackson

While I don’t think it was as good as The Hitman, it was very fun and also very sexy and I enjoyed myself while reading it immensely so I’m still very attached to this series.

Prompt: PSL Vibes
Book: The Belle and the Beard by Kate Canterbary

Literally, I love this book so much, you cannot possibly understand. The angst and emotions were everything and made me feel the way I think PSLs make other people feel… extremely happy and also relieved that their favorite drink is back.

Prompt: A Deal with the Devil
Book: The Devil’s Own Duke by Lenora Bell

I mean… Here’s my ARC Review, but the tl;dr is that this book was fine?

Row Five

Prompt: #BeastMode
Book: The Witch’s Wolves by Ellie Mae MacGregor

This was a very sexy novella and I liked the writing and the steamy bits, but I just wish it had been a little longer. I think this is another situation where I start to question if novellas are meant for me…

Prompt: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Book: Foolish Hearts by Synithia Williams

Here’s my ARC Review… My tl;dr is that I enjoyed this book, but not as much as some of the others in the series. There were two crimes happening in this book that were being investigated and predictable or not, it was a fun time.

Prompt: Bite Me
Book: Archangel’s Blade by Nalini Singh

The weirdest thing about having just finished my re-read is that I really want to start all over again. I’m just in the mood to stay in the Guild Hunters world apparently. Since this is my third read, I knew I would enjoy Dimitri and Honor’s story because I really loved it on my first re-read. I was delighted that that held true. It’s really such a good book. Also, I just appreciate Dimitri so much more in the other books because of this one. But I still find his and Elena’s relationship weird af, honestly.

Prompt: Hades x Persephone Retelling
Book: A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair

I wasn’t sure what I would think of this book, but it turns out I enjoyed it a good bit. I don’t think it’s perfect by any means, but I think I’m actually going to continue on in the series.

Prompt: Trick or Treat
Book: Sweet Filthy Boy by Christina Lauren

The costumes used in this book are used in a very NSFW manner and, tbh, I was here for it. I don’t feel like role playing is a frequent kink I see explored in romance? It was a fun one that CLo played with in this book, I thought. I enjoyed it.

And there you have it! My recap of #BangInTheNightBingo! Did you participate? If so, how did you do?

xx
