Venus in Sagittarius + Book Recommendations

Per Cafe Astrology, “when Venus in Sagittarius people are in love, they need to feel they can grow and expand their horizons through their relationship.” They may be a “confusing mix of lighthearted and serious” and are likely to be charismatic, friendly, and flirty. The most relatable thing (for me, obviously) was this line, “When the going gets tough in their relationship, they have an overwhelming need to run away.” I feel you, Venus in Sagittarius people. I feel you. They do often come back though, so that’s good for an HEA. 😉 So let’s jump in to finding some romance novels with characters who might just have Venus in Sagittarius.

Venus in Sagittarius (with the Sagittarius constellation poorly drawn out behind the words) + Romance Recs

Archangel’s Viper by Nalini Singh

Okay, so different parts of Venus in Sagittarius made me think of two different members of Raphael’s 7, but I just finished Venom’s book so let’s start with him. Venom has this moment where he’s getting really close to Holly and he knows this is a bad idea because if something bad happens, he will be distraught. So he tries to emotionally distance himself. It’s fabulous, in my opinion, in large part because Holly’s like, “Yeah, no. Good try though.” The other member of Raphael’s Seven that I thought of was Janvier, who is the smiley, joking, charismatic, flirtatious one who falls so hard for Ashwini and their book is everything! It’s Archangel’s Shadows and was my favorite in the series before Archangel’s Sun took the top spot.

Tools of Engagement by Tessa Bailey

So interestingly, I think we have a combination of love interests here that has brought me to think of Tools of Engagement as perfect for people who embody or just want to read about Venus in Sagittarius traits. Let’s begin with Bethany, who despite presenting herself to the world as essentially perfect in every way, is actually an anxious mess on the inside (again, relatable). One of the things she does to protect herself is push people away before they can get too close and then blames herself for the fact that no one has stayed. Then you have the fearlessly outgoing Wes who is similarly terrified that no one will actually want to keep him long term and has purposefully made his adult life about sort of flitting through life from one place to the next. He’s stuck for the moment (in a good way) because he’s taking care of his niece, but he isn’t really expecting Bethany to be his forever. Arguably a perfect Venus in Sagittarius book!

Only When It’s Us by Chloe Liese

I would say Willa is a snarky, but fun loving person with a Venus in Sagittarius based on the way she does really seem up for adventure. She’s also extremely opposed to letting people in because PAIN and that definitely causes her to run away. In fact, running away seems to be one of her preferred methods for dealing with emotions she doesn’t want to deal with and again, I respect that immensely.

Like Lovers Do by Tracey Livesay

I mean, maybe this doesn’t actually work, but I’m going to with Nic definitely is a Venus in Sagittarius person. The reason I’m going with this is that Nic is driven. She’s headed on a path and she’s headstrong and she is absolutely going to get there. She does not have time to be derailed from something so fleeting as a romance, even if that romance would be with her best fried who is also really freaking sexy.

40-Love by Olivia Dade

I think Lucas is likely a person with his Venus sign in Sagittarius because he is the fun and flirty type who has a lot of hidden depth. When Tess meets him, it’s easier for him to lean into the fun and flirty side of him because he’s trying to close off the pieces of himself that used to have him dreaming big, since the injury that cost him his professional tennis playing career. That said, he does have dreams that Tess helps him find again and some of those dreams include Tess, even though they’re both nervous to figure out how to turn a vacation romance into something real and long-lasting. I loved this book so much.

So, what do you think? Do you agree with my choices? Do you have other books and characters that came to mind? Let me know!

xx
