Hi, it’s October somehow and I am concerned with how time works. I will never understand how a year can feel like a million years and yet fly by at the same time. Regardless, I decided to do the End of the Year Book Tag again. If I can find my old ones, I’ll link them here!
1. Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?
Well, if you want to talk about the books on my currently reading list at the moment, then yes. Let’s see, at the moment there are ten books on my currently reading list on Goodreads. The books I started in September and then abandoned that I haven’t yet finished are: Collision Point by Lora Leigh, Pulling Doubles by Christina C. Jones, and One Dance with a Duke by Tessa Dare. And then we have seven books that I’ve started at various points of time from 2018 to pre-September. Some are rereads, like A Week to be Wicked by Tessa Dare, It Happened One Autumn by Lisa Kleypas, and A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. And the final four books are Heart on Fire by Amanda Bouchet, Rich People Problems by Kevin Kwan, Rebel by Beverly Jenkins, and The Golden Hour by Beatriz Williams. I plan to use Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon to get this list down a bit and I’m not too worried about the books from September getting read. I am working on it!
2. Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?
Um… Well, no, not really. I just have been willing Fall on with my clothes, not my reading. I suppose there is more fantasy on my TBR than normal though.
3. Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?
Love Lettering by Kate Clayborn feels unfair to say because it comes out on December 31, 2019, but like… It’s Kate Clayborn, you know? But also, The Art of Theft by Sherry Thomas isn’t quite out yet (10/15) and it’s absolutely one I’m so looking forward to! Also, I adored Get a Life, Chloe Brown so I’m really excited for it to be out in the world so everyone else can enjoy it too!
4. What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?
Only three? Lol. Let’s see, I definitely still need to get to Wayward Son, which should be happening soon (although, I think I need to reread Carry On first and I’m just not sure I have time for that). I also need to read A Rogue by Night by Kelly Bowen, which I even had an ARC of! I’m terrible. It came out in May. And finally, Cherokee America by Margaret Verble, which is on the TBR for November!
5. Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite book of the year?
I mean, no. Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid is my new favorite book of all time and nothing else has really come close to knocking it off of the top of my favorites list, even though I’ve really loved so many books I’ve read. Are there books that could definitely still make it hard for me to decide the other nine of my top ten? Absolutely. And I hope there will be!
6. Have you already started making reading plans for 2020?
Oh boy, have I. I’ve got numerous lists going about my most anticipated books of each season that have already been announced. I’ve already listed out my goals for next year. I’m actually so anticipating 2020, which is weird and I should probably calm down. Like, I have to keep making myself NOT buy a new bullet journal to start
