April TBR + New Releases

Y’all, I had 11 ARCs for April somehow. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. I’ve already reviewed one of them though, Tiny House, Big Love by Olivia Dade so at least that was one off the list at the start of the month. But there are obviously still a lot to go. Additionally, I’m participating in the Magical Readathon as per usual from Book Roast on YouTube. It’s the Spring Semester at Orillium and I have five books to read for that. So let’s just go ahead and dive in to the books, shall we?

April 7th Releases

Okay, again, I’ve already read (and reviewed!) Tiny House, Big Love and thought it was pretty lovely. I’ve also read in the first six days of April, Enemies to Lovers by Alisha Rai and After Hours at Dooryard Books by Cat Sebastian. Enemies to Lovers is a fun romp, but not my favorite Rai. However, After Hours at Dooryard Books was FANTASTIC and I loved it SO much. I cannot emphasize enough how truly marvelous that one is. It’s a historical mm romance set in 1968 and it’s so good. I loved it so much.

So that leaves me with On Thin Ice and Set Point to get read sooner than later considering I’m posting this on the release date. Oopsies.

April 14th

During the first week of April, I’ve been able to read While You Were Seething and How Not to Fall in Love. While You Were Seething is a book that I enjoyed, but would not recommend if character’s assuming things instead of openly communicating is a thing that you hate because that is the entire book. How Not to Fall in Love was a single mom romance with a quarterback who desperately needed to get his life together due to Daddy issues and it was FANTASTIC. I loved it a whole lot.

That leaves me with three to get read: Stranger Things Have Happened is a fake dating romance, which means I’m deeply invested already. Happy Ending is about two divorced people who faked being friends and old loves because of their exes getting together with one another and now they’re going on a vacation with their exes as one big happy family. I think. I’m really looking forward to this one even if it’s taken me quite a while to pick it up. And then finally, The Art of Loving You by Natasha Bishop is one I’m so excited for! It’s a second chance romance, which I don’t always love, but lately have been loving more and more.

Cover of Blood Bound by Ellis Hunter

Blood Bound involves witches! And dragons! And unfortunately, despite reading the synopsis multiple times, I’m still baffled by it. So I definitely need to read it so I can talk intelligently about it. It is recommended for fans of Fourth Wing, Quicksilver, and most importantly, Throne of Glass though, so that’s a great sign. Imagine if the main character gives Manon vibes… Crossing my fingers, tbh. I’ll report back as soon as I get it read.

Other New Releases

I have preordered Rites of the Starling in both print and audio because I cannot wait for book two to be in my hands. I’ve also preordered The Paris Match because I love Kate Clayborn’s writing so very much. The rest are all books that I’m loosely interested in, but King of Gluttony is the only one I am actually planning of them. The rest are on my radar so that if other people love them (or I actually finish The Wind Weaver, which is book one to The Sea Spinner), I may pick them up.

Closing Thoughts

Outside of the new releases, I am also trying to reread ACOMAF, Silver Elite, and Direbound to get prepared for the respective new releases. I’m also going to be rereading Caressed by Ice because I’m participating in Jess’s Psy-Changeling read-along. And then, in addition, I need to read Picking Daisies on Sundays, Jane Austen’s Bookshelf and/or Star Shipped, and a current bestseller. Right now, I haven’t picked one for sure. Is it because I’m hoping Rites makes the list? Maybe… What books are you trying to get read in April? I can’t wait to hear!

xx
