Favorite Reads of Quarter 3

Y’all, it’s October!!! I love October! And it’s ben a super big month for me already, in that I’ve moved back to a city and started a new job. But I’m still doing my best to get you very sporadic content so here is my list of favorite books I read in the last three months! Let’s get into them.

3rd Quarter Favorites

A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping was so sweet in so many ways. I just really love a found family moment and this level of witchiness was so great for me. Similar actually to how much I adored The Enchanted Hacienda. I just really love this light magical touch. I’m not sure what it is, but it works so well for me. Power Play is really kind of stepping in and filling in for the first three books in the D.C. Stars series because I have fallen IN LOVE with Chelsea Curto’s writing. These sports romances are so great and so full of feminism and non-toxic masculinity and that’s what I want in my real life. The Heartbreak Hotel was a grief novel and those will get me every time. Fantastic. Love Arranged was incredible. So much fun. I love a fake engagement. And their chemistry was off the charts as per usual.

The Will of the Many was a SHOCK to me, but probably shouldn’t have been considering how many people love the book. For real though, the way that this book fully hooked me with no romance? Well, okay, I guess technically there is the smallest of small romance plots, but it’s like… super minor. Atmosphere meanwhile had me in my feels sobbing hysterically in the car. Also, it’s sapphic in case you missed that. Scotch on the Rocks is a really great contemporary romance that is falling in love with your ex-fiancé’s brother and also, you really want to hate him, but oops, you can’t. Sisters of the Wind is yet another brilliant installment of Boulley’s mysteries, though I do feel like mystery is not the best way to describe her work though I’m not sure what else would be better. This particular installment follows a young adult who has been through a whole lot and is on the run from some people. The Indigenous focus is on ICWA (the Indian Child Welfare Act), which was interesting to learn some more about than what I previously had. I really like how Boulley manages to weave in some learning about a specific law that affects Indigenous people in each of her novels. It’s such an interesting way to do advocacy. And then, The Blonde who Came in from the Cold was so much fun. I had an absolute blast with both this and the first one and I just really need Ally Carter to write spy romances until I die.

Closing Thoughts

What have been your favorite books in the last three months? Also, do I need to tell y’all what these books are about? Because I’ve really slacked on doing that. Just let me know.
