January To Be Read (or January 2025 Releases)

I know that in 2024, I always combined my wrap up with my TBR, but for 2025, I think I’m more inclined to separate them. We’ll see if I maintain that habit, but for now, I’m really excited to start talking about my TBR in separate posts. I’m partially wanting to do this because I have so many books that I’m loosely excited about that I want to share the new releases somewhere! But also, I have actual books that I need to get to and so this is also for helping me maintain accountability. So let’s dive in to our first TBR of the year!

January TBR

January ARC Copies

Flirting with Disaster drops on January 14, 2025 and is a Sweet Home Alabama retelling that I am so very excited, especially after having read Kumar’s debut Say You’ll Be Mine and absolutely loving it.

My Inconvenient Duke by Loretta Chase is coming out on January 21, 2025, which is a historical romance about a woman who has to take charge of her destiny because her brother is going to ruin their lives if she doesn’t. And then she falls in love with the “wrong” man. Obviously.

The Favorites by Layne Fargo is an ice dancing “romance” (I’m skeptical, so I’ll let you know once I’ve read it) that has me and my obsession with Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir DYING to read it. Just not the kind of dying to read it that translates to me actually reading, but let’s not think too much about that. Anyway, it comes out on January 14, 2025.

Earl Crush by Alexandra Vasti is the follow up to Ne’er Duke Well, though it does not indicate that it’s an actual sequel, so I’m a little uncertain if it’s continuing a series or not. I will hopefully let you know that as well. This is a take on a marriage of convenience that sounds really fun. I’m very much looking forward to it. It is also coming out on January 21, 2025.

Work in Progress by Kat Mackenzie is another January 14, 2025 release that is about a woman who needs a fresh start (always a buzzword) and therefore books a literary bus tour across Europe, which is full of older ladies and the bus is driven by a handsome Scottish man. I can’t wait. It sounds like a delight.

Give Me Butterflies by Jillian Meadows is a grump/sunshine romance between two museum curators and I am very much looking forward to its traditional publishing release date of January 21, 2025.

I Think They Love You by Julian Winters is out on January 28, 2025 and is a fake dating your ex situation that means it’s full of buzz words for me! If I’m not mistaken, this is also Winters adult debut?

Yin Yang Love Song by Lauren Kung Jessen is out on January 28, 2025, and is about a family curse, a fake date to break the curse situation, and a cellist. I’m not a hundred percent sure I’m following the plot, but I am certain that I’m looking forward to reading it!

Other January Releases

Closing Thoughts

I think most months I’ll probably share some challenge reads/reads that I’m picking up to complete a challenge, but at least for this month, since I have so many ARCs, I feel like this is substantial enough? Let me know what you like to see if a TBR post. Or if treating this more like a new release post is more useful to you anyway.

See y’all shortly with another end of the year post!

xx
