July Wrap Up & August TBR

July both seemed to fly by and also be an agonizingly long month. I think it’s because work was absolute madness and I thought about quitting on approximately a daily basis. However, gotta have an income, ya know? (And also, I do actually mostly like my job.) Anyway, let us turn our attention to the books I read in July and the books I want to read in August, shall we?

Thoughts on My Reading in July

I read some really incredible books in July, but my reading for the year remains down. I do think my avid Olympics watching has interfered with my reading numbers a bit, particularly the July section as that contained both my new obsession, Rugby 7s, and my age old obsession of Women’s Artistic Gymnastics. That said, it felt like toward the end of the month/beginning of August, my desire to read contemporary romance, my usual preferred genre, evaporated and all I wanted to read was something “different.” I do think I’m coming back out of that short lived phase, which is probably good considering the ARCs I request and have already. I’m also not doing a very good job of making sure I’m reading diversely, and my mood reading has just had me all over the place, but not necessarily in a good way. So I need to try and watch out for that in the next couple of months. Any trends in your reading you’ve noticed? Especially since we’re halfway through the year!

Closing Thoughts

Having a bit of a so many books, so little time crisis at the moment, but the USWNT soccer plays in about 24 minutes, so for now, I’m taking my little ADHD brain back to the Olympics and hoping that eventually I’ll manage to get plenty of reading done again, but that really may have to wait until this sudden Sports obsession has ended. What are you looking forward to in August? Let me know!

xx
