Most Anticipated Books of Summer

I’m so excited for this list of books! I’m a little sad that The Bride Bet by Tessa Dare got moved from August to next year, but there were also books that got pushed to this time of year and I am really looking forward to them! So let’s get started…

Alpha Night by Nalini Singh

Can you believe I have already read this? Because I can’t believe my fortune. It was absolutely marvelous and a new relationship dynamic we haven’t seen from Nalini Singh before. This is about Ethan, an Arrow, whom we haven’t met before, and Selenka Durev, Alpha of BlackEdge in Moscow. They are fantastic characters and it was so fun to meet a new cast of characters and to get to see some of our favorites. I especially adored every single time Valentin was on page. And Memory and Alexei! A fantastic book and I’m still no closer to figuring out how to review this book in any way that resembles coherence. I’ll work on it.

The Last Train to Key West by Chanel Cleeton

Honestly, I’m still not entirely sure what this book is about, but I’m so excited to dive into my ARC. Like Alpha Night though, I have every intention of actually listening to this on release day. Cleeton gets excellent narrators for her books. I do know we’re following three women, including Mirta Perez, the final of the Perez sisters. I’m really intrigued by what I do comprehend of the plot so I would definitely recommend you look at the synopsis.

40-Love by Olivia Dade

This is a vacation romance between Tess Dunn, a woman on vacation who loses her bathing suit top in the ocean, and in a desperate attempt to prevent the children around her from seeing her bare breasts, she takes coverage with Lucas Karlsson. It’s also an older woman, younger man romance, but my main draw to this book is that I absolutely adore Olivia Dade. She makes me feel all the things in a novella and Teach Me was impeccable, so I’m excited for this new full length book.

Release Date: June 18, 2020

Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

Another book I barely paid attention to the synopsis for, but I do know this one involves fake dating! I’m really excited because I think I’m going to love Dani Brown. The main thing I know about this book is that Zafir Ansari saves Dani and it’s caught on camera and then the two fake date for presumably romance reasons. I’m so excited to read it because I love Hibbert’s brilliant writing. She makes me laugh and she makes me swoon and I’m really pumped to experience that again so soon.

Release Date: June 23, 2020

Daring and the Duke by Sarah MacLean

I have loved this series so much. Sarah MacLean is so good at making me invested in her characters so by the time we’re at the end of the series, I am in agony waiting to actually be able to read it. Thankfully, Avon granted me an ARC of this one so I won’t be waiting much longer. (In fact, I may have already read it before this is posted. We’ll see.) But this book is finally Ewan and Grace’s book and the grovel that’s coming is going to destroy me, I know it.

Release Date: June 30, 2020

The Devil of Downtown by Joanna Shupe

I am so excited about this series conclusion! This one follows Jack Mulligan and the youngest Greene sister, Justine, who form some kind of alliance and I am so, so excited. I absolutely adored The Rogue of Fifth Avenue and loved Florence in book two, so while I’m sad for this series to come to a close, I’m really excited about it too.

Release Date: June 30, 2020

To Catch an Earl by Kate Bateman

Ooh, this book is about an Earl and a jewel thief and the Earl is investigating the jewel thief, but keeps running into this woman turning his head. I struggle sometimes with deception plots, but I loved This Earl of Mine so much that I’m really looking forward to seeing how this goes.

Release Date: June 30, 2020

The Heir Affair by Heather Cocks & Jessica Morgan

I’ve been waiting for this sequel for FIVE years and I can’t believe I have an ARC and haven’t read it yet. Something is clearly wrong with me. I’m pretty sure you need to read The Royal We first because this appears to pick up essentially right after the events at the end of The Royal We. I’m really pleased by that, actually, because the events at the end of The Royal We certainly caused some emotional bombs to go off. I’m really looking forward to seeing how Nick and Bex navigate that fall out.

You Had Me at Hola by Alexis Daria

Another book where I didn’t really need to look further than the author before adding it to my TBR and another book where I’m shocked I haven’t already read my ARC. Two actors need to create truly fantastic on screen chemistry for their careers and that leads to some off-screen chemistry. Or something. Listen, it’s Alexis Daria. This book is going to be great.

Cover of Emerald Blaze by Ilona Andrews

Emerald Blaze by Ilona Andrews

I love this book already and I have not yet read it, but as y’all know, I’m just going back and forth between rereading Hidden Legacy and Psy-Changeling so my anticipation of Emerald Blaze is off the charts at this point. Also, I’m in love with Catalina and Alessandro already. Plus, White Hot is my favorite of Nevada’s trilogy and if that holds true, I’m going to love this book more than should really be humanly possible. I’m going to die, I want this book so much. Anyway, sorry to be dramatic, but also not sorry because I NEED THIS BOOK. And then I’m going to die waiting for the next one. Y’all. I love this series so much!!!

Release Date: August 26, 2020

And now I’m going to be obnoxious and give you a host of honorable mentions, which still won’t cover everything, but hopefully you’ll find something you’re interested in reading!
