February To Be Read (aka February 2025 Releases)

I was so excited to make this post! It turns out that whether or not anyone else likes me splitting up my wrap up and my TBR, I like splitting them up because it means I get to talk about more books that are coming up and coming out, which is just so fun for me.

February TBR

February ARCs

Get Lost with You by Sophie Sullivan is the second book in the Rock Bottom Love series and I really enjoyed the first one. It comes out on February 4th. Jillie is a single mom who finds herself having feelings for the new chef at the resort, whom she knew as a teenager and it sounds like it will be really delightful for me.

Harlem Rhapsody by Victoria Christopher Murray is a book I requested after learning about it on a Goodreads list of all places, so I guess sometimes Goodreads does recommend me books I actually do want to read. Anyway, this book is also out on February 4th, but is set in 1919 Harlem and is about Jessie Redmon Fauset, who is tasked with finding new and upcoming Black authors. I am so excited for this one!

Maya & Natasha by Elyse Durham is about twins living in the Soviet Union during the Cold War and they are ballerinas. I cannot explain why I virtually always love books about twins and books about ballerinas, but you know, I really do seem to, so we’ll put it to the test with this book, which releases on February 18th.

Wooing the Witch Queen by Stephanie Burgis is a romantasy, where the Queen falls in love with the man she randomly hires to be her new librarian? Listen, I don’t know. I just now read the synopsis, mostly, I picked this one up because the cover looks like a vibe and I’m excited to read more romantasy this year. This one releases on February 18th.

The Other March Sisters by Linda Epstein, Ally Malinenko, and Liz Parker releases on February 25th and follows Meg, Beth, and Amy while Jo is off in New York City. Is it silly of me to be hoping for a different ending for Beth? Because I am. But I also know that they’re unlikely to have changed her story, but like, what if they did? You know? Anyway, I love Little Women so much and I’ve not ever explored a book inspired by the book, so I think it’s long past time.

On Her Terms by Amy Spalding is book three in the Out in Hollywood series, which I’ve largely really enjoyed from Spalding. This particular installment involves fake dating and a famous tiktoker. This one is also out on February 25th.

Other Book Releases

Misc. Challenges

So, I started a TBR jar… I just wanted to be like the other girls, you know? But also I’m participating in a couple of other reading challenges so I have some goals I’m trying to achieve here.

Buzzword Challenge: Water Word; Options

Buzzword Cover Challenge: Skyline; Options

TBR Jar Prompts

With a Battle: Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson
(I’m not even going to give myself an alternative okay??)

Short Story Collection; Options

Historical Fiction: Great news, I have three ARCs that qualify so you’ve seen my choices for this prompt already!

Mental Health Theme; Options

(Although, I have a feeling at least one of the ARCs that I read will likely also have mental health rep, but in the alternative, here are five appealing choices!

Hyped; Options

(In my unofficial data keeping role, these are the five most popular romance or romantasy books that I found from 2024 favorites. Could I have included other books that aren’t romances? Yes, but I’m reading too many outside of my comfort zone books as is, so I will not be doing that.)

BIPOC Author; Harlem Rhapsody certainly qualifies of my ARCs, as do a number of other books I have sprinkled throughout this TBR so I’m not going to create any separate list here.

Closing Thoughts

I haven’t even figured out what the book clubs I’m taking part in are reading in February… I guess we’ll see how that goes, but I’m making no promises! This is already so many. What books are you excited about reading in February?

xx
