Most Anticipated Fall Releases (Sept – Nov)

First of all, to say that I’m excited that it’s Fall time is a dramatic overstatement, especially considering I pulled out my pumpkin decor in my office at the end of July. I’ve already completed a Halloween themed diamond painting. Like, I am ready for Fall. And part of that excitement includes being excited for some Fall book releases! So let’s talk about them, shall we?

Most Anticipated Fall Releases

September

Wild Eyes was included in my Most Anticipated Books of the second half of the year post that just went up, so I’m not going to re-hash the synopsis. I’ll just say that the release date is September 3rd and I truly cannot wait.

The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year by Ally Carter

Goodreads Synopsis: The bridge is out. The phones are down. And the most famous mystery writer in the world just disappeared out of a locked room three days before Christmas.

Meet Maggie Chase and Ethan Wyatt:

She’s the new Queen of the Cozy Mystery.

He’s Mr. Big-time Thriller Guy.

She hates his guts.

He thinks her name is Marcie (no matter how many times she’s told him otherwise.)

But when they both accept a cryptic invitation to attend a Christmas house party at the English estate of a reclusive fan, neither is expecting their host to be the most powerful author in the world: Eleanor Ashley, the Duchess of Death herself.

That night, the weather turns, and the next morning Eleanor is gone.

She vanished from a locked room, and Maggie has to wonder: Is Eleanor in danger? Or is it all some kind of test? Is Ethan the competition? Or is he the only person in that snowbound mansion she can trust?

As the snow gets deeper and the stakes get higher, every clue will bring Maggie and Ethan closer to the truth—and each other. Because, this Christmas, these two rivals are going to have to become allies (and maybe more) if they have any hope of saving Eleanor.

Assuming they don’t kill each other first.

Why I’m Excited: My love of Ally Carter knows no bounds.

Catch and Keep by Erin Hahn

Goodreads Synopsis: At thirty-three, Maren Laughlin’s just turned down her boyfriend’s proposal, walked away from her decade-long position as a park ranger, and returned to her childhood playground in Northern Wisconsin to accept her inheritance: a decrepit waterfront bait shop. After a lifetime of letting things happen to her, she’s ready to start making her own moves, even if everyone else thinks she’s making the wrong ones. Well, not everyone—at least the local heartstopper and resort owner is on her side.

Josiah Cole has made some missteps in his life, but he’s proud of what he has: two awesome kids and the keys to the kind of getaway spot that has families coming back every summer– their up north home away from home. After his marriage dissolved, leaving him a single dad, he feels he’s the last person to judge Maren for her recent transformation (even if his best friend, her brother, wants him to feel otherwise). Besides, he genuinely likes having her around. She’s a breath of fresh air, his kids adore her (not to mention her dog, Rogers), and it doesn’t hurt that she’s beautiful.

Things between Maren and Joe are easy. So easy, they’re fully immersed in the middle before they even decide to begin. It’s not a question of should they, but rather can they make it last? Are things too easy, or is this just how real love works? In Erin Hahn’s heartwarmingly sexy Catch and Keep, Maren and Joe have to be brave enough to find out.

Why I’m Excited: I’ve really enjoyed the other two books that are connected to this one and I’m so excited for Maren’s book. I really love Hahn’s writing in the adult space.

Sleeping with the Frenemy by Natalie Caña

Goodreads Synopsis: Leo Vega’s love life has been on life support since long before the gunshot wound that put him on leave from the fire department. Now, a year after his injury, he’s finally able to return to work, but he’s no closer to fixing things with Sofi, his sister’s best friend and the woman he’s had a secret on-again, off-again relationship with for years. Sofi is still reeling from the revelation that her best friend lied to her years ago, setting her life on a course she’s resented ever since. She’s done with the Vega family, and that includes Leo, who has always prioritized his tight-knit clan over their relationship. She’s moving on with her life, but then circumstances beyond their control push Sofi and Leo into a tense roommate situation. It’s almost impossible to move on with someone new when Leo is there, reminding her what they had, every day.

When his great-granddaughter Rosie tips Papo Vega off about what’s been going on between Leo and Sofi, he’s on the case, with reinforcements. Working behind the scenes alongside Sofi’s mom, he’s determined to help these two stubborn lovebirds end up where they belong—together.

Why I’m Excited: I love this series so much. I’m so resentful Netgalley/the publisher doesn’t recognize my love of these books because I just want to read this right now. Do I have a million other ARCs? Yes. But I want this one. Anyway, enough of being a toddler, I just really love these characters and I’m so very excited for this installment.

The Striker by Ana Huang

Goodreads Synopsis: Asher Donovan is a living legend—the darling of the Premier League, the (arguably) greatest footballer in the world.

But his reckless antics and recent team transfer have caused much controversy, and when his feud with his rival-turned-teammate costs them a championship, they’re forced to “bond” during off-season cross-training.

Surviving the summer shouldn’t be hard…until Asher meets their new trainer. She’s beautiful, talented, and no matter how hard he tries, he can’t take his mind off her.

The only problem? She’s his rival’s sister—and completely off limits.

***

Scarlett DuBois is a former prima ballerina whose career was cut short by a tragic accident.

Now a teacher at a prestigious dance academy but still haunted by the ghosts of her past, the last thing she wants is to spend the summer cross-training Asher Donovan, of all people .

She swore she would never date a footballer, but when her brother leaves town for an emergency, she finds herself thrown into dangerously close proximity with the gorgeous, charming striker.

Training, she can deal with. But falling in love? That’s out of the question—especially when he’s the only person with the power to break her heart.

Why I’m Excited: Generally speaking, I adore Huang’s writing. I’m still struggling with King of Sloth but aside from that miss, I have loved everything else I’ve read from her.

Closing Thoughts

What books have I missed? What are you most looking forward to? I’m quite confident I’ve missed several anticipated releases because for some reason, I’ve not been using the want to read button as often as I used to on Goodreads so I’m relying on Netgalley and my brain more than I should be. Anyway, let me know what you’re looking forward to!

xx
